SECTION II: STUDENT SAFETY AND WELLNESS
School safety is a responsibility of all members of the learning community. All staff members are
familiar with emergency procedures. Should a student be aware of any dangerous situation or
accident, s/he must notify any staff person immediately.
Students with specific health care needs should deliver written notice about such needs to the School
Office.
BULLYING AND OTHER AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR TOWARD STUDENTS
Prohibited Conduct
1. Bullying. Bullying of a student at school is strictly prohibited. For the purposes of this
policy, “bullying” shall be defined as:

intended or that a reasonable person would know is likely to harm one or more
students either directly or indirectly by doing any of the following:
2. Substantially interfering with educational opportunities, benefits, or programs of one
or more students;
3. Adversely affecting a student’s ability to participate in or benefit from the District’s
educational programs or activities by placing the student in reasonable fear of
physical harm or by causing substantial emotional distress;
4. Having an actual and substantial detrimental effect on a student’s physical or mental
health; or
5. Causing substantial disruption in, or substantial interference with, the orderly
operation of the school.
STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
The Student Code of Conduct within the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District outlines the
rights and responsibilities of students during school and school-related activities, alongside the
